Abstract
The objective of this research is to determine if the resocialisation processes, supported by e-learning, would meet the capabilities, and needs of inmates in closed and open institutions in Finland. To reach to objective, three study questions were set: -How do Finnish inmates see their motivations, possibilities, and skills for e-learning? -How do Finnish inmates see education as a tool for resocialisation? -What kinds of features define Finnish inmates as students and learners? The method of this study is qualitative empiric research, and the strategy of study is a case study, which was seen as a suitable strategy through its flexibility and wide range. Twelve semi-structured interviews were conducted to collect data for analysis, and later, through findings, the author was able to find answers to study questions.
