Push factors identification and the response on migration policies : An evidence based model to mitigate irregular migration to the EU
Abstract
This research focuses on identification of the push factors that causes irregular migration. The aim of this research is to provide an evidence-based model in order to raise awareness of the push factors affecting the dynamic and constantly changing irregular migration trends. The added value of this evidence-based model is that there is information gathered in a qualitative method by using interviews of interpreters as the source of empirical data. The goal of this research is to provide a model how to collect information that can be transformed into intelligence and how the data could be analyzed in order to create a report for distribution to the policy makers through the existing Frontex intelligence products.
