| dc.description.abstract | The outbreak of the migration crisis in 2015, led Europe to look for a solution in order to address the unprecedented migration influx. This dissertation sheds light upon the implementation of EU –Turkey Statement, a declaration between the Heads of EU government and state and their Turkish counterparts. This dissertation argued the effectiveness of the EU –Turkey Statement through its implementation. In this frame we examined the situation in Greece prior to the Statement, over viewing the elements which triggered the migration crisis in 2015, as well as, the impact of the Statement at its inception. The effectiveness of the Statement is directly related to its goals and how they were accomplished throughout the last three years. | et_EE |
